Madhavan has proven he is a bankable actor several times but not many know about his passion for films. After seeing success in the South recently with Manmadhan Ambu, a Tamil film that saw him joining hands with Kamal Haasan again, Maddy is gearing up for his next release in Hindi with Tanu weds Manu in which he co-stars with Kangana Ranaut for the first time. With the promos and trailer garnering everyone’s interest, sources at Mid Day have said Maddy has taken a pay cut for the film.

While we have heard of actors that demand more money if there are delays in production, it’s rare to see an actor like Maddy who’s willing to take pay cuts for a film. However this isn’t the first time the actor has done this. He didn’t take his payment and ventured into distribution for his Tamil film Evano Oruvan, a remake by Nishikanth Kamat of his own Marathi film Dombivali Fast. Sources also say that director Anand Rai had booked the actor before getting a producer owing to Madhavan being perfect for the role. He even had gotten the suggestion of Kangana from Maddy himself.

Tanu weds Manu is set for release on 25th February.
