She may not have had many releases in Hindi but Shriya Saran is keeping herself with some special projects in her kitty since her last release Ek – the Power. Besides Mira Nair’s Midnight Children which will see her a part of an ensemble cast including Irfan Khan, Anupam Kher, Seema Biswas, Nandita Das, Siddharth and Soha Ali Khan, Shriya will also be seen in Shekhar Kapur’s Paani which is co-produced by Danny Boyle and co-starring Hrithik Roshan and Austrian actor Christoph Waltz.
As she begins to make waves on the film front, the Awarapan actress is shifting gears to business woman with her first of a chain of relaxation spas opening in Andheri at Lokhandwala. But what’s so special about a spa? Even though Shilpa Shetty has successfully opened two centres for her spa, Shriya’s spa centre is special as the actress is doing her bit for the disabled and has employed visually impaired professionals as staff. “They are so eager to work. As I have just started, it will take time for things to settle in. They ask me why there aren’t many clients as yet. They want work all the time. Their zest to work is to be seen to be believed,” says the actress when speaking to Mid Day about her long time dream coming true. Apparently Shriya had a habit to visit the local blind school often during her student years in New Delhi.
