While confirmation for most casting in Indian cinema comes quite late, we all love the speculations and over time the overtime the rumour mill does in the initial stages. This time around we’re talking about the speculations surrounded the casting of Anurag Basu’s next starring Ranbir Kapoor.

The critical acclaimed director who didn’t really taste success with Kites is not letting the failure of the film slow him down. His next is said to be a comedy entertainer and not the usual genre one expects an Anurag Basu film to fall within.

However, it’s the casting of the film that is creating more buzz than the genre. It’s long been confirmed that Ranbir is the male lead of the film, however the two female lead roles are yet to be cast. Leading media outlets have released reports stating that Priyanka Chopra and Asin are battling each other for the first female lead. Although it’s the news of the second leading lady that has caught everyone’s attention.

Goan Diva Illeana who starred in the original of Wanted, Pokiri, is said to have be zeroed down for the second leading lady role. While confirmation is still to be made, fans of the diva are excited to see the actresses switch gears from South to North.

She’ll be joining many of her current contemporaries in Hindi cinema such as Asin and Trisha who also recently made the switch to Hindi. Only time will tell if they’ll have to battle it out up North as they’ve had to down South.
