Dus Tola music launch by Gulzar Saheb

Music of AryanBrothers Entertainment Ptv Ltd’s film Dus Tola released on 4th October 2010 at The Club. Sharp at 4 PM, Gulzar Saheb was the first one to arrive along with the editor turned director Ajoy. “We have heard stories from our grandmothers and great grandmothers. They have been entertaining and educating. Ajoy’s film Dus Tola is also the same. When he told me the story, I thought that even today, youngsters can think of such films and immediately agreed to write the lyrics. Treatment of the film is very good and it is light hearted comment. I am sure, people will enjoy it,” says Gulzar Saheb.

Gulzar saheb, along with stars Manoj Bajpayee, Aarti Chhabria, debutant Pallavi Sharda, Asrani, Ninad Kamat, Asif Basra, Govind Namdeo, Bijendra Kala, music director Sandesh Shandilya, Sukhwinder Singh, director Ajoy and producers Kunwar Pragy Arya & Indervir Arya, and the ensemble cast and crew of the film Dus Tola, collectively released the album of the film. Dus Tola released by Warner Bros. Pictures hit theaters on 22 October 2010.

The music for the film was composed by Sandesh Shandilya, with Lyrics by Gulzar. Heard on the OST are Sunidhi Chauhan, Sukhwinder Singh, Mohit Chauhan, and Sonu Nigam.

The tale of Dus Tola

Inspired by the folk tales passed on from one generation to another, ‘Dus Tola’ is a simply told story of victory of goodness over greed. The story is set in Sonapur, a quaint little town that has its share of eccentrics. Shankar (Manoj Bajpayee), the local goldsmith, is head-over-heels in love with his neighbour’s daughter Suvarnalata (Aarti Chhabria) much to the chagrin of her father Daya Shastri (Dilip Prabahvalkar). Shastri is bent upon finding her a suitable groom from Dubai and cover her with gold at the wedding, which will help him climb up the social ladder. Armed with nothing but a heart of pure gold, Shankar sets out to overcome the obstacles of devious plots and heartache. ‘Dus Tola’, a slice-of-life tale which mirrors our society, and is light-hearted in its narrative.
