MC Hammer working with Bappi Lahiri!

International rapper M.C. Hammer had the pleasure of working with our own desi disco master and rapper Bappi Lahiri for international project Will To Live. This Indo-American venture is made in English and Hindi languages and has music by Bappi Lahiri. Title track ‘I got the music’ has music & voice by MC Hammer as well as by Bappi Lahiri. Comments Bappi Lahir, “this song has more of a fusion with rap.” While Hammer even wrote the lyrics for his rap, Bappi da has sung his part in Bollywood style.

Music is the soul of the Bollywood films and for Will to Live the legend Bappi Lahiri has created a perfect fusion of Western and Indian music. International singer MC Hammer has sung the title song of the film. Other voices are of Asha Bhonsle, Sunidhi Chouhan, Kumar Sanu and Sharon Prabhakar. A remix version of jashn ki raat is sung by Mamta. For the first time in India, English and Hindi songs have blended together in one Album of Will to Live. Music of the film is on FilmyBox Music label.

Producer Amrit Das comments, “this is the first time that Hollywood film will have music in English and Hindi both. Since my film has a journey from California to India, this music makes perfect sense. Bappi Lahiri has given an amazing mix of tracks.” Will To Live is looking at June 2011 release in India.

Shot extensively in California and India under the banner of Netguru Films, Will to Live is Directed by Charles Sleichter. Its star cast includes Geoffrey Broderick, Anusha Singh, Erik Altemus, Arjun and Subhasis. Its executive producer is Amrit Das, Screenplay is by Alec Doyle and Sudeshna Roy, cinematography is by Mike Bartkowaski & Sounmendu Roy and is co-directed by Paul Emami & Biplab Chaterjee.

Will to Live is the new genre film of cross cultural appeal. A score of Hollywood and Indian filmmakers were involved in this feature film that has also pioneered new technology of Digital film making in India.
