Celebrating the success of the movie by throwing a party has now become the norm but a success party for a song? In a first of its kind, Aamir Khan who is producing the much talked about Delhi Belly decided to throw a success party for the song ‘Bhaag DK Bose’. Held at Vie Lounge on 3rd June, many stars including Imran Khan, Avantika Malik, Kiran Rao, Vir Das, Kunal Roy Kapoor, Abhinay Deo, Sona Mohapatra were present. Aamir Khan who was supposed to make an appearance could not come as he had a shoot in Pondicherry but he did send an audio visual message to the press gathered. “I’m sorry I could not attend the event because I’m shooting in Pondicherry, but my best wishes and a whole lot of thanks for making bhaag DK Bose into a super hit. In our films, the success of the film’s music plays a huge role in getting a very good initial for the movie. The music composed by Ram Sampath is exceptional and he is the next big talent to watch out for.”
The evening kick started with Ram Sampath and vocal scientist Chetan Shashital performing to Saigal Blues which got a huge round of applause. Sona Mohapatra’s Bedardi and Kirti Sagar’s ‘Nakkadwale Disco Udharwale kisko’ were favorites too with the audience gathered fully enjoying the renditions. Of course the piece of the evening was the now hugely popular song ‘Bhaag DK Bose’, ‘Aandhi Aayi’ which was sung by Ram Sampath and to the audience’s delight Imran Khan, Vir Das, Kunal Roy Kapoor and Sona joined in. After performing twice when the audience still didn’t have enough and asked for a repeat performance Ram said, “This is not the Berlin Film Festival. I’ll sing the slower version.”
The song which was become extremely popular with the young crowd because of its upbeat music and wacky and double meaning lyrics was the brain child of writer Akshat Verma which was then written by Amitab Bhattacharya and composed by Ram Sampath. Looking lovely in a blue ensemble, Kiran Rao said, “We are happy that people liked this song so much. It has become an anthem in such a short span.” Imran who made an entry with his wife Avantika confessed, “When I had heard this song, I knew that it will be liked, but I never thought that it will become such a rage. I’m happy with the concept of a party for the success of this song.” He stated that this song was definitely different from the type of songs he usually does and they were taking a gamble. “But what’s life without a risk,” he said ,” I’d like to state that Ram Sampath’s music really blew me away and that all the tracks of Delhi Belly are truly mindblowing. I’m happy that the music is catching on in a big way. Often I’m asked… who is DK Bose, and I say that anybody who does not like the song is… DK Bose! (laughs) And I’m so thrilled that the success party to celebrate the music of Delhi Belly is a huge success. Maybe we should have another party to celebrate the success of this party,” he said signing off.
