Kangna Ranaut is reported to have pulled out of Deepa Mehta’s Midnight’s Children.

Ranaut becomes the lastest Bollywood actress to turn down the part of Emerald in the adaptation of Salman Rushdie’s novel. Rani Mukerji and Vidya Balan were both earlier attached to the project, but apparently had issues with playing the role of a mother to a 14-year-old, reports The Times of India.

A source revealed, “Kangna did not have dates. She is very busy with Dhamaal 2, which goes on [the] floors very soon. Then she will do Salman Khan’s film, which will be directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. Besides these two, she has David Dhawan’s Rascal, Priyadarshan’s Bullet Train, Pritish Nandy’s Actor with Amitabh Bachchan, No Problem, Tanu Weds Manu and Knockout.”

The actress received acclaim for her last release Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai.
