Salman Khan’s debut movie production Chillar Party will open the 12th IIFA awards ceremony this weekend, but he will not be attending the three-day event that takes place in Toronto.

The reason for Salman Khan’s absence from the prestigious awards ceremony is because the actor is shooting for his next film Bodyguard. He confirmed the news to the media saying, “I am shooting for my next Bodyguard and it is an action movie, so yes, you people won’t see me there. IIFA will miss me this time.”

Bodyguard is set for release on 31st August 2011. Kareena Kapoor stars opposite Salman Khan in the romantic action film.

Chillar Party is a children’s movie that features Ranbir Kapoor in an item number. The Salman Khan production is set for release on July 8th 2011.
