The legendary composer Madan Mohan, who passed away in 1975 at the young age of 51, left behind various tunes which remained unused. Some of these were used as the music score of Veer Zaara, and won wide appreciation and various awards.
He also left behind songs recorded in his lifetime, which remained unheard as the films remained incomplete.
15 such songs were released on an album Tere Bagair by Yash Raj Music in 2009, to mark the composer’s 85th birth anniversary.
After the appreciation of the album Tere Bagair, more unreleased songs sung by Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle and the late Mohd. Rafi and Kishore Kumar have been released through the official website www.madanmohan.in
On the occasion of Madanji’s 87th birth anniversary on 25th June 2011, and in commemoration of the second anniversary of his website, yet another “never heard before” song is being released, sung by Asha Bhosle.
Ashaji sang several songs under Madanji’s baton, some of the memorable solos being Saba Se Yeh Kahdo, Ashqon Se Teri Humne, Koi Shikwa Bhi Nahin, Thodi der Ke Liye, Shokh Nazar Ki Bijliyaan, and of course the all time hit, Jhumka Gira Re., as well as some memorable duets like Zameen Se Humen Aasman Par, Aapko Pyar Chhupane ki, Tere Paas Aaake Mera Waqt, Jis Din Se Maine Tumko Dekha Hai, Jab Jab Tumhen Bhulaaya and various others.
On the album Tere Bagair, there were 4 unreleased songs by Ashaji, a treasure for her fans. Dec 2010 saw the release of the never heard before song, Aaj Ki Shaam Pehloo Mein Tu by Asha Bhosle.
Now, for the first time, the song, Hum Hosh Lutakar Mehfil Mein, a mujra sung by Ashaji in her inimitable style, is being released.
This song was recorded in the early 70′s for a film that remained unreleased.
We are sure Ashaji and Madanji fans will once again welcome yet another unreleased gem, to add to their collection of rare treasures.
This song, like the ones released earlier last year, can be heard exclusively on the website www.madanmohan.in.
