You may think oh it is a new still of Shah Rukh Khan. Well, it is a new still, but it is not the real SRK… it is the wax statue of King Khan! The statue of the Bollywood star was revealed at Madam Tussauds on August 12th in New York City. The unveiling of the wax SRK coincided with the release of his hit film My Name Is Khan on DVD. Standing in front of a replica of the Taj Mahal, the star – or his wax figure at least – is dressed in a sleek black suit and white button down shirt. The actor is the latest addition to Madame Tussauds brightly-colored, fully-interactive ‘Bollywood Zone,’ which allows guests to feel as though they are on a Bollywood film set

According to the Madam Tussauds’s website, “It takes up to six months to complete one figure. Beginning with a sitting, sculptors spend several hours with their subject, taking more than 250 precise measurements of the body, hands and face with calipers and cloth tape measures. During this process, they photograph their subject’s head and body from every possible angle. It is at this time that the sculptor makes the all-important observations that will convey the subject’s personality and character in wax form. If the person is unavailable Madame Tussauds studio artists study hundreds of photos and watch hours of video to create the figure.” Another fun fact is that each figure costs approximately $125,000 to make.
