After Imtiaz Ali’s Jab We Met Tamil remake Kanden Kadhalai, it is now the turn of his superhit movie Love Aaj Kal to be remade, albeit in Telugu. Love Aaj Kal is ready to be made once again as Kushigaa starring Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan and Ileana D’Cruz who will be essaying the roles of Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone respectively. The film will be directed by Jayanth Paranji who had earlier remade Munnabhai MBBS in Telugu (as Shankar Dada MBBS starring Pawan’s elder brother Chiranjeevi).

As far as the third important character of Veer Singh goes, Jayanth has zeroed down on Paresh Rawal to portray this Sikh character which Rishi Kapoor had played in the original. Jayanth who has already worked with Paresh in two of his earlier movies, Shankar Dada MBBS and Baavagaaru Baagunnaara, admitted that he couldn’t imagine anyone except Rawal for this part. “Paresh is an incredible artiste. This is a small part but I knew he will bring in a lot,” he said.

A few changes are being incorporated in the script keeping the Telugu audience in mind. Apparently Paresh’s character will be seen narrating the story of his friend as opposed to Rishi’s narration of his younger days in the Hindi version.
