The year 2009 goes out with a bang as the most sought after actor in Bollywood, Aamir Khan, appears in his only film of the year – the much-anticipated 3 Idiots, presented by Reliance BIG Pictures and releasing in cinemas worldwide on 23rd December 2009.

One of Indian cinema’s most talented and enigmatic stars, Aamir Khan (famed for his performance in the Oscar-nominated Lagaan) delivers yet another compelling performance alongside co-stars Kareena Kapoor, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi and Boman Irani. 3 Idiots is the must-see Indian movie of the year – a highly innovative and compelling film directed by the famed Rajkumar Hirani (Munna Bhai M.B.B.S., Lage Raho Munna Bhai) and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra (Parineeta, Eklavya: The Royal Guard).

Synopsis
3 Idiots is a lighthearted and entertaining journey of two friends (Madhavan and Sharman Joshi) as they embark on a quest for a long lost friend. On this journey, they encounter a long forgotten bet, a wedding they must crash, and a funeral that goes impossibly out of control. As they make their way through the perilous landscape, another journey begins: their inner journey along memory lane and the story of their friend – the irrepressible free-thinker Rancho (Aamir Khan), who in his unique way, touched and changed their lives. It’s a story of their hostel days that swings between Rancho’s romance with the spirited Pia (Kareena Kapoor), and his clash with an oppressive mentor, Viru (Boman Irani). And then one day, suddenly Rancho vanished.

3 Idiots is a fresh and unique comedy of ideas that is as provocative as it is funny and as wildly entertaining as it is insightful. A laugh-riot that talks about the most important of human pursuits: self-actualization.

3 Idiots is released by Reliance BIG Pictures in cinemas worldwide on 23rd December 2009.
