Rani Mukerji is all set to start shooting for her next movie, a quirky love story titled Aiyaa.
The Bollywood actress, who was last seen on the big screen in No One Killed Jessica, told the media about her role in the film. “I am playing the role of a Maharashtrian girl and Prithviraj is playing the role of a South Indian boy. I am very excited. It’s a very interesting film and I am looking forward to it.”
According to sources, the Bengali actress is truly embracing Marathi culture. The source told the media, “Rani wants to feel as Marathi as she can. Unlike her cousin Kajol who is half-Marathi and half-Bengali (Kajol’s mother Tanuja is a
Maharashtrian), Rani cannot speak Marathi fluently. She is now completely into Marathi food, language and clothes.”
Aiyaa is an Anurag Kashyap production along with Viacom 18. Southern actor Prithviraj will be taking on the lead male role opposite Rani Mukerji. Shooting for the movie is set to start in October and continue until December 2011.
Rani Mukerji is also set to star in director Reema Kagti’s untitled project, a psychological thriller, opposite Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor.
