From the silver screen to the business world to…politics? Not quite, but Shilpa Shetty is one of the Indian actors who will be adding a touch of Bollywood glitz to Britsh MP Keith Vaz’s campaign trail.
Shilpa has known Vas since her visit with then Prime Minister Tony Blair at the House of Commons after winning Celebrity Big Brother in 2007.
The Telegraph reports that Vaz hopes to win voters in Leicester East with some Bollywood glamour.
A member of Vaz’s campaign team says, “In India, Bollywood stars stand for parliament themselves. It will be lovely to see them bring a bit of razzmatazz to the campaign.”
