In the latest Bollywood-Hollywood merger, John Abraham, Arjun Rampal, Ashmit Patel and Freida Pinto will join forces with stunt director, Andy Armstrong, for American Empire, a gangster thriller that also stars Nina Dobrev, hot young star of The Vampire Diaries, Emmanuelle Vaugier of Two and A Half Men and Jesse Metcalfe of Desperate Housewives.
Top football fan, John will be putting all his movies on hold during the summer so he can go to the World Cup in South Africa. He’s keen to see which new stars the tournament will produce. “The World Cup always gives new players,” he says, “My old favorites are Lionel Messi (Argentina) and Cristiano Ronaldo (Brazil). There are a lot of other players I‘m hoping to do well in this World Cup.”
Arjun Rampal, meanwhile, is looking forward to being the arch-nemesis to Shahrukh Khan in the latter’s super-hero movie Ra.1 For a moment, it looked as though Vivek Oberoi would replace him as he was suffering from a back problem but his recovery appears to have been swift and rumour has it that he’s now ready for the role.
