ROADSIDE ROMEO SELECTED FOR CAIRO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL FOR CHILDREN 2010: Two names – Yash Raj Films and Disney – that are synonymous with quality and success, add yet another feather to their caps with the selection of Roadside Romeo – India’s first fully animated 3D film recognized as being at par with Hollywood productions – at one of the most important children film festivals in the world – The Cairo International Film Festival For Children, which takes place from March 4th to 11th this year.

The idea of establishing the Cairo International Film Festival for Children was born in the General
of Arab Artists and the Cairo International Film Festival, both guided by the great writer the Late Saad El Din Wahba and it is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture. The festival draws countries from across the globe to take part every year with their best productions and involves children from all over the world in the jury.

Roadside Romeo released worldwide on October 24, 2008. The movie has received immense praise and numerous awards all along. Featuring the voices of Bollywood superstars Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor as Romeo, Laila along with comedian Jaaved Jaffrey as Charlie Anna, the film has been written and directed by the talented Jugal Hansraj. The landmark animations which have made Roadside Romeo a treat to watch have been created by Visual Computing Labs (VCL), a division of Tata Elxsi Ltd.

The official screening for Roadside Romeo will be held at the Opera House at the Small Theatre on the 5th, 6th, 8th, and 9th of March during the festival. The film will be screened in the Competition Section.

SURI AND TAANI PARTNER AFTER THEIR HONEYMOON IN JAPAN NOW HEAD TO THE OKINAWA INTERNATIONAL MOVIE FESTIVAL: Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, the highest grossing YRF-Shahrukh Khan film till date which broke all previous box office records for Yash Raj Films will showcase at the celebrated Okinawa International Movie Festival on March 27, 2010. The festival takes place from March 20-28 in Okinawa, Japan.

Released worldwide on December 12th 2008, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi was directed by Aditya Chopra,
starring the superstar Shahrukh Khan who was instantly adored by millions as the immensely Suri and as the fun loving Raj and the talented Anushka Sharma who played the role of Taani to perfection.

The Okinawa International Movie Festival aims to create a new type of movie and video festival at which all people can come to understand one another through movies and videos under the banner of “Laugh and Peace.” The festival is competently supported by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Okinawa Times and Okinawa Television Broadcasting Co., Ltd.

DIL BOLE HADIPPA AT THE TIBURON INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL AND TAIPEI GOLDEN HORSE FILM FESTIVAL: Directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Aditya Chopra, starring the dynamic duo of Shahid Kapoor & Rani Mukherjee, Dil Bole Hadippa is a celebration of the never say die spirit of India. This colorful film will be seen at the Tiburon International Film Festival (TIFF) on
March 24 and The Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival (April 9 – 22, 2010) in the prestigious Competition Section.

The Tiburon International Film Festival (TIFF) is an annual event which takes place in Tiburon, California. It seeks to provide a greater understanding of the world and its many cultures through the creative medium of film, and through the top quality films from around the world.

Many illustrious filmmakers will be attending the TIFF this year.

Adding yet another feather to its cap, Dil Bole Hadippa will also be screened at the Indian Film Festival 2010 – Bollywood and Beyond. The festival has a fantastic program of films this year from the best of Bollywood’s blockbusters. Talented director Anurag Singh and the brilliant actress Rani Mukherjee are special invitees at the festival this year. The Indian Film Festival will screen in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Auckland after kicking off at Cinema Nova Melbourne.
