After having won over audience and critics alike, Silk aka Vidya will now make way to your homes. Sheemaroo Entertainment and Balaji Films recently unveiled the DVDs of the biggest entertainer of 2011, The Dirty Picture.

Looking gorgeous in a saree, the leading lady Vidya Balan made an appearance along with co-star Tusshar Kapoor, director Milan Luthria and producer Ekta Kapoor. Having swept off all the Best Actress awards at the recent film awards functions, Vidya looked every bit happy about the appreciation and the accolades. When asked of all the awards for the movie which has been her biggest one so far she promptly replied, “I think the biggest award was The Dirty Picture. The opportunity to play Silk and to work with this team is the biggest award. Everybody has loved this film and we are grateful for that.” Replying to a reporter’s question as to whether she might have made a few actresses frown because of her winning reign at the awards she joked, “I will only say I am holding Milan’s hand very tightly because only because of this person I am taking all the awards!” She further added, “I was telling Milan that the film released two months back and now I want to watch it again. We have such wonderful memories associated with this film that I would be glad to watch it on DVD.” So was she aware when they had started the shoot that the movie would be such a great hit? “I just knew we all were trying to make a good film,” Vidya said, “We are happy the movie has done so well.”

The Dirty Picture is still running well in many theatres. So what prompted the makers to release the DVDs so soon?  “The Dirty Picture is the most pirated film in the history of Indian movies and if we had not come out with the DVD now then the piracy would have made much more money than it had already done,” Ekta said. “For an unconventional set-up and subject, the huge box office and critical acclaim for ‘The Dirty Picture’ makes it a real game-changer.  With the launch of the DVD, we look forward to Silk making her way into homes!”

And for those who still can’t get enough of Vidya well here’s good news. Vidya will be doing an item number in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Ferrari Ki Sawari. “The production is like a home ground to me so I couldn’t say no to Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Plus I really liked the song and I hope you all like it too.” We are sure the viewers can’t wait for this one!
