Getting straight to the point for the aspirational Indian, the Luxurion World event took place at the weekend at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Mumbai promoting a lifestyle of luxury covering cars, homes, cruises, fine wines, jewellery and of course fashion. The fashion show focussed on bridal wear and contained both traditional and modern designs carrying intricately woven patterns and materials, often encrusted with jewels and crystal. Amongst those designers represented were Neeta Lulla, Archana Kohchhar and Santanu.

Shenaz Treasurywala, who walked for Neeta Lulla, is currently looking forward to Radio with Himesh Reshammiya – and after that, there’s Delhi Belly with Imran Khan. Surprisingly, however, Shenaz doesn’t talk about movies or fashion as being the greatest passions of her life – it’s swimming instead. “As soon as I spot a river, lake, waterfall or the sea and I tear off all my clothes and dive right in, fearlessly,” she says, “I’m a water baby. I could swim before I learnt how to walk. I often travel on my own with a good book, my diary, swimsuit, my camera and lenses. I don’t need anything or anybody else.”

Sonal Sehgal, who also features in Radio as Himesh Reshammiya‘s wife, shared the tunnel of applause with Shenaz for Neeta Lulla. Both she and Shenaz have become great friends since doing the movie together. “I think both Shenaz and I are very secure individuals, which is why we had a great time shooting together,” she suggests, “In fact, on our last trip to Delhi to promote the film, I took her around the city to all the hot shopping spots! We had loads of girlie fun.” Sonal is looking forward to Aashayein in which she stars opposite John Abraham in a film that also features Shreyas Talpade.

British actress Geeta Basra was also at the show, travelling in a red sari encrusted with jewels for Archana Kochar. Geeta, who once considered studying criminal psychology, says she thinks hard before choosing a role. “There are a lot of criteria to consider before signing a film – the script, the character, the producer and director,” she explains, “You should know what type of film you are delivering to the audience.”
