So we all know that Kunal Kohli loves to make movies about love. Each new film he explores some aspect of a grand romance. In Teri Meri Kahaani, he not only explores one, once upon a time, he explores thrice upon a love story. In his director’s note he wrote, “This June it’s all about love …. thrice upon a love story …. soul mates …. janam janam ke saathi … call it by whatever you want, the journey of love is something that has always fascinated me and all of us. In my latest film I’ve explored another facet of love. Films like DDLJ, KKHH, Hum Tum, Fanaa have taken the audiences into a journey of love that’s been entertaining and romantic. This is the kind of cinema, I like, love and live! The joy, fun, tears and entertainment of our Hindi Cinema is at its peak in our Love Stories! This is exactly the journey that I went through while writing Teri Meri Kahaani, and this is exactly the journey I want to take you through.” In the film, Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra fall in love three times, in three different time periods and as three totally different people. This story takes us through a journey of eternal love between a couple who have vowed to love each other not only in this life but in every life to follow. Their love is so strong that even destiny wants to bring them together.The story starts in 1960 Bombay with Govind and Ruksar, then moves ahead to present times, 2012 England with Radha and Krishandthen goes back in time to Punjab, 1910 with Aradhana and Javed.
Ahh Javed, the Casanova that has made every Shahid fan sigh! Interestingly, Shahid says he thinks there is a little bit of Javed inside of Kunal. While describing Javed, Shahid told his friends, “I told this to Kunal many times that I think there is a Javed inside Kunal, but bichara he is married so he have to behave well but I am sure that he has Javed in him somewhere.”
It seems Shahid really enjoyed working with Kunal on Teri Meri Kahaani. “Kunal is a very easy guy to work with. You can have discussion with him 100 times or anybody can give him a suggestion and he takes it positively. I really had good time working with him ”
Teri Meri Kahaani hits theaters on June 22nd!
