Shilpa Shetty appears to have no limits to her entrepreneurial skills. Following the launch of the first of her super spas last week, she is now set to launch her own range of takeaway gourmet meals – Shilpa’s Gourmet Creations. The Bollywood actress has taken a stake in the V8 Gourmet group and is excited about the new project. “There has always been this preconceived notion of Indian food being very heavy and fattening,” she says, “So, we are bringing our own philosophy of serving Indian food out there into the market.”
In a very active day for the UK-based actress, Shilpa issued a plea to Jermaine Jackson, who appeared in Celebrity Big Brother with her, to get in touch. Shocked at the news of Michael Jackson’s death, Shilpa said, “I can only empathise, I feel very strongly for Jermaine and he’s a very good man, a really good man and he’s someone that I have learnt a lot from. My prayers are with him, that’s all I can say.”
Shilpa, who has confessed to being slightly obsessive-compulsive when it comes to her health is taking extra precautions in the face of the swine flu epidemic, taking more rest and being careful about her food. “I strongly believe in the adage that prevention is better than cure,” she explains, “Also, one never knows what’s going to strike when. It’s better to get something diagnosed in its early stages.”
