Busy bee Neetu Chandra has said no problem to the glamour shots and action stunts required of her by Anees Basmee in his new film of the same name that has just finished a shoot in South Africa. The ensemble movie also includes a heap of top stars such as Kangana Ranaut, Anil Kapoor, Sushmita Sen and Akshaye Khanna. “It is so much fun to dress up as a sexy little thing,” she says, “But to add to my character I have a lot of action to do. From taking on goons and kicking real butt, I also have a small hand gun, which I have had to use. And to make it really natural Aneesji gave me a real gun. I actually fired five shots with it.”
Neetu had her own real-life action incident on Sunday when a drunk stumbled in front of her car on the way back from the No Problem set. He appeared quite badly injured and Neetu was unsure what to do. Luckily, when she rang co-star Sanjay Dutt, he immediately turned up and he managed to calm the situation down. “Neetu was on her way back from the sets to her hotel room on Sunday night when suddenly this drunk lunged in front of her speeding car, crashing against the windscreen,” explains a source, “He was severely injured. Neetu and her driver were in a complete state of shock and she didn’t know what to do. As a crowd started gathering, a crying Neetu called Sanjay to handle the chaos. Sanjay rushed to the spot with Sunil Shetty in tow and took stock of the situation. They spoke to the cops and had the injured man sent to the hospital.”
Neetu, who succeeds in juggling two careers in Bollywood and the South, has just signed up for Vishal&’s new romantic comedy Theeratha Vilayatu Pillai. The movie will also feature two previous Miss Indias – Tanushree Dutta and Sarah-Jane Dias. Miss Dias, who won the contest in 2007, is making her debut in the movie and is hoping to build a career in the industry.
