Road To Sangam – Confluence release postponed

Written and directed by Amit Rai and produced by Amit Chheda, the release of film Road To Sangam – Confluence is pushed to December 2009 – January 2010. “This is a very special project for us and we need to market it in a very unique manner. This would require more time. October 2nd, is appropriate date but it is too soon to implement all our ideas. So we decided to push the release ahead,” comments the producer Mr Amit Chheda.

From the banner of Gipsy Films, Road to Sangam is a simple story of a God fearing, devout Muslim mechanic named Hashmat Ullah (Paresh Rawal). A renowned mechanic by profession, he is entrusted the job of repairing an old V8 Ford Engine, unaware that it was once used to carry ashes of Mahatma Gandhi to immerse in the ‘Sangam’ of holy rivers Ganga, Yamuna and invisible Saraswati. Its historic significance becomes Hashmat Ullah’s bane and salvage.

Shot completely at actual locations in Allahabad city of UP, it’s star cast includes stalwart actors like Paresh Rawal, Om Puri, Javed Shaikh, Pavan Malhotra, Swati Chitnis, Masood Akhtar, Yusuf Hussain, G.P.Singh, Rajan Bhise, Rakesh Srivastava, Sudhir Nema, Vijay Mishra and others. Film is presented by Shashikant chheda under the banner of Gipsy Films. Its produced by Amit Chheda and directed/written by Amit Rai.
