Currently in the US completing post-production work on her movie Hissss!, Mallika Sherawat is to be honoured by the City of Los Angeles as part of the India Independence Day celebration. She will receive a special award as an honorary citizen from Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and former Mayor Richard Riordan. Her letter of invitation reads, “I invite you along with family and friends to join the Los Angeles City Council and Mayor in a council presentation recognizing your extraordinary contributions to our great City on August 14, 2009 at 10 am in Council Chambers.”

In a showdown between two of the world’s most glamourous women, Mallika managed to outshine Angelina Jolie at the premiere of Quentin Tarentino’s new movie Inglourious Basterds which stars Brad Pitt and Diane Kruger. Dressed in a floor length black see-through gown that emphasised her curves and lingerie, and wearing matching black evening gloves and diamond jewellery, Mallika appeared to gain more attention than Angelina who was dressed in a simple strapless curve-clinging black leather knee-length dress for the occasion. Mallika also bumped into Tarantino at the event.

Mallika is clearly enjoying every moment of her time in Hollywood and is now planning on making it her second home. She thanks Jackie Chan, who she worked with on The Myth, for helping her to get the necessary work permits. Always the party girl, she recently attended a rock jam which included legendary British rocker Ozzy Osbourne. “For my first rock concert, it couldn’t have been better,” she tweeted.
