Speaking at the press conference of her upcoming film Teri Meri Kahaani, (which stars herself and her rumoured on-off boyfriend Shahid Kapoor) with Shahid Kapoor and director Kunal Kohli accompanying her, Priyanka defiantly  states, “The film industry is male dominated but it’s hugely fascinating to see how a change has come about. People’s mind set towards actresses is changing so that we can do roles which are beyond playing just being a coy girl. It is a great time for Indian actresses to be in cinema.”

Recalling her all female lead film, Fashion PC states, “When Fashion happened, everybody told me it is a big risk; nobody comes to watch women-oriented movies. I feel like I have kick started all the gamut of films being made with female-dominated parts.” With all this talk of female power, doesn’t she reminisce about her early age when entering the film industry? About this Priyanka says, “It was completely new for me as I started at the age of 17. Everything I have learned is my own. I have fallen, bruised myself so I take a lot of pride in it.”

So how has the self-made girl from Bareilly earned the title of being one of the most successful actresses in modern times?  “Nobody can ensure anything in life. You just have to work hard. You just need to take care of the opportunities given to you. I am somebody who came to the film industry without knowing anyone. ”

So there you go readers, you read it from the horse’s mouth, direct from Ms Chopra herself, if you want to be successful – be a go-getter!
