A host of Bollywood stars took part in the IIFA Fashion Extravaganza hosted by Zayed Khan and Sophie Chaudhary. Amongst those attending were Kangana Ranaut, Genelia D’Souza, Jaya Bachchan, Pooja Batra, Anushka Sharma, Hrithik & Susanne Roshan and Abshishek Bachchan. Bipasha Basu looking stunning as always arriving in a layered mid-length black dress with plunging neckline and black lace bustier. She then took part in the show, modeling a traditional-styled gown in shades of pearl with hair and bracelet accessories for top designer Rocky S.

On the catwalk also, Dia Mirza looked spectacular in a full-length embroidered silver gown designed by Manav Gangwani and complemented by Dino Morea in a crisp white suit.

But it was Mughde Godse who stole the event in a simple full-length blue satin gown with a broad silver lace waist and plunging neckline. She walked the ramp with Neil Nitin Mukesh to promote their movie Jail. Neil wore a simple black suit that worked well in contrast to Mughde’s outfit. Speaking later, Mughde spoke about how the movie Fashion had changed her life and her progress from being a model to a movie star. “Fashion was a turning point in my career and my journey has just started in the industry. The way people were chanting my name last night has confirmed my believe that it is the strength of the role that matters not the length. The sky is the limit for me now.”

Jewellery collections were modeled by Raima Sen and Neha Dhupia for D’damas. Sonam Kapoor wore an intricate silver satin lengha choli designed by Anamika with a short top and long flared skirt with a dotted design for her catwalk appearance.

Govinda and Sushmita Sen also took to the ramp to promote their movie Do Knot Disturb. “I don’t know why they called me onto the stage at a fashion show like this!” Govinda joked, “Have you seen the clothes that I’m wearing?”

With so many stars available on hand at the IIFA Awards at the Venetian in a relatively small enclosed area, someone should write a guerrilla script based around the event and start filming there right now – a murder mystery perhaps, or a romance that sparks amidst the glamour, or a spy thriller – or why not all three at once, after all this is Bollywood!

Funds raised at the event will go to the IIFA charitable foundation.
