Farah Khan has confirmed that her next film, Happy New Year, will begin shooting later this year. The film reportedly will star the Om Shanti Om jodi of Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan and is being produced by SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment. Farah told PTI, “Happy New Year would definitely go on floors this year unlike what the grapevine has been.” She said it might not be until December 31st but it will definitely go to the floor in 2009.

About the film she would not reveal much except to say that she is working on the script now and that, “Happy New Year is not like my older films. It is a very modern film, very contemporary.”

Farah is also one of Bollywood’s outstanding choreographers but is now mainly concentrating on her directorial ventures. “I cannot say yes to anyone and everyone who asks me to choreograph his film. You have to accept that as a director I am more popular and successful. So I want to concentrate on making films now.” Though she has not given it up entirely and choreographed ‘Desi Girl’ in Dostana and in the upcoming film Kites she created a dance for the fabulous Hrithik, as well as music star Kylie Minogue for Blue.

Besides concentrating on her films she is also of course concentrating on her triplets, “Most of the time, I am with my children. If I am shooting in a nearby studio like the Yashraj one, I bring them over to the shoot.”

She said to IANS, “The most I like doing is playing with my three kids. Then on the professional front, I love directing a film, it’s very exciting. Choreographing comes a close second and then I enjoy being on reality shows.”
