India’s most celebrated couturiers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, who have dressed stars such as Amitabh Bachchan and Dame Judi Dench, give an insight into their world with the book India Fantastique.

The designer duo celebrates 25 years of being part of the fashion industry and they felt that a book would be the ideal way to mark the milestone.

“Abu and I thought long and hard about how we wanted to celebrate our milestone, and also about how we would use this celebration to set the vision for our creativity and ourselves in the next twenty five years. It soon becomes clear that a book, or rather two as it turned out to be, was the ideal vehicle,” says Sandeep Khosla.

The two-volume publication showcases both the designer duo’s fashion and interior work. The first volume of India Fantastique displays Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla’s elegant designs that they have created over the past 25 years. The second volume showcases their work in interior design, which incorporates art, artifacts, antiques and vintage textiles.

With over 600 pages full of specially commissioned and styled photography, shot by famed photographer Ram Shergill, the book certainly is a feast for anyone who appreciates design.

To coincide with the launch of India Fantastique an exhibition is being held at Sotheby’s from the 3rd to 5th September. Bollyspice.com was invited to have a look into the event that featured creations from the design duo as well as photography from renewed photographer Ram Shergill.
