Every father’s nightmare came true for actor Deepak Tijori yesterday when his 13-year-old daughter, Samara, was allegedly kidnapped off the street by ruffians and taken to a cheap hotel. “It was a 25-year-old man who had previously trapped and blackmailed many young girls before this incident,” says Deepak, “My daughter is fortunate to have returned home. She pleaded with this man and the man thankfully let her go. I, however, appeal to all to help the police and me find this lowlife and teach him a lesson.” The girl’s mother had raised the alarm when her daughter was late returning home.

Tijori claims his daughter was pulled from the street at Lokhandwala market at 4pm yesterday by an unknown assailant. After she returned home, the actor, accompanied by relative Kunika Lal, who appeared in the movie Men Not Allowed, visited the hotel. “The place is an illegal set up and I don’t understand how they could have let a man and a crying girl book a room,” claims Deepak, “We have requested the police to look into the matter.”

The manager of the hotel was not happy about the visit in which he claims Deepak went too far. “They kicked and slapped us, when we too had no clue of what had happened with the girl,” he said.

ACP Dilip Suryawanshi of the Oshiwara police said, “Tijori’s daughter Samara was with a boy. She returned home three hours later.” A police officer confirmed, “When the family found Samara missing, they tried reaching her on her cellphone but they got a message saying it was unavailable. Failing to trace her, the father approached the Oshiwara police.”
