Neetu Chandra, fresh from her success in the excellent 13B, and Tanushree Dutta have been having problems with the filming of their new thriller movie The Apartment. In particular, the problems have been with their fishy co-star Sunehri, who just won’t swim into frame at the right moment. “It was so funny,” Neetu explained “We gave close to 20 takes for this scene but it was still becoming increasingly difficult to can the shot. I guess Sunehri is the first one amongst us to have really read through the character in detail. She is making sure that there is really something ‘fishy’ about this ‘apartment!”
Neetu’s career is currently booming after her success in Traffic Signal and Oye Lucky Lucky Oye. Next up is Mumbai Cutting, a portfolio movie starring just about all the fresh new stars in Bollywood along with some long-time reliables. The cast includes Vinay Pathak, Jimmy Shergill, Sonali Kulkarni, Soha Ali Khan, Tara Sharma and Ranvir Shorey. This is followed by Kushar Parsaad Ka Boot with Randeep Hooda and Paresh Rawal.
Neetu has also been signed up for RGV’s latest movie, Rann. She replaces Raima Sen because a change in the script was felt to no longer favour the Honeymoon Travels actress. Neetu has already played a wide variety of roles in her career but confesses that comedy is her favourite genre, “Out of all the genres that I have worked in, comedy is where my personal preference lies,” she confirms, “And my personal favourite of all the roles I have played is the character of Sonal from Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! She was almost like me.”
