Kareena Kapoor has turned into an author. I see a look of confusion in your eyes. Let me clear that for you. Kareena Kapoor has written a foreword for her dietician Rujuta Diwekar’s bestselling book, “Don’t Lose Your Mind, Lose Your Weight” in which she has revealed her breakfast secrets that helped her attain the famous size zero figure.

Talking of her changed perception towards diets and exercise, Kapoor writes about being taught “to eat well, eat right and eat regularly… The results are for all to see.” Briefly touching on the topics of her lifestyle, exercise and dietary routines and the media interest surrounding her weight loss, she mentions it was due to “70% diet and 30% exercise-training and yoga.”

When it comes to Diwekar’s understanding of her lifestyle and work, Kareena mentions how her diet is customised to her requirements and how every meal is planned in accordance to the level of activity of any given day.

Talking about a typical day Kapoor goes through the details of her diet and her newly developed understanding of food – “In Mumbai, my breakfast is muesli and milk or a chillah or parathas; no chai or coffee. While shooting for Tashan in Ladakh, I ate fresh fruit for breakfast and thukpas and momos for my other meals. I had pudina tea without milk.

I make sure I eat every two hours. My evening snack or meal is soy milk or a sandwich. Rujuta focuses on nutrition, not calories. Amazingly, she likes to keep the nutritional value of what you eat, as compared to the calories consumed, high.

I have learnt what she means when she says, ‘be smart about food’ and still enjoy what you eat. Now thanks to this book, you can (learn) too and I am sure you will find it good enough to eat.”

Sounds like hard work – Rujuta Diwekar’s book “Don’t Lose Your Mind, Lose Your Weight” is presently available at bookstores.
