Sanjay Dutt continued his campaign for the May Lok Sabha elections with a visit to Lucknow where the Samajwadi candidate was greeted by a throng of cheering fans. Accompanied by his wife Manyata and Samajwadi general secretary Amar Singh, he visited the house of Captain Rizvi where his father used to stay before moving to Mumbai. “Dutt sahab (Sunil Dutt) always used to tell me that there is a family in Lucknow, which is ours,” said Sanju, “He said that it is important to come here. It is because of my elder brother Amar Singh that today I feel that I have a family in Lucknow as well.”

Sanjay will be teaming up with Ajay Devgan in Ajay’s next production, directed by Golmaal’s Rohit Shetty – it will be an action comedy but without the more obvious slapstick of the Golmaal films. “No Golmaal this time,” confirmed Rohit. “I’m putting together a far more sensible and far less slapstick comedy. The script has been ready for a while and when I narrated it to Ajay he immediately wanted to produce it.”

Sanjay is extremely busy at the moment. Along with his burgeoning political career, he is working on a wide number of movie projects including the much-anticipated Blue with Sunil Shetty, Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif and Lara Dutta; Aladin with Ritesh Deshmukh and Jacqueline Fernandes; Luck with Imran Khan; the troubled production of Lamhaa with Bipasha Basu; and Chatur Singh Two Star with Amisha Patel.
