Genelia D’Souza first made a splash in Bollywood in Masti, she is a huge star in the South and last year her performance brought down the house in the super hit film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. So, what is next for this bubbly yet also power packed actress? A remake of the super duper Telegu hit Bommarillu, in which she is reprising her role. The Hindi version, titled It’s My Life is directed by ace director Aneez Bazmee and is the first production for actor turned producer Sanjay Kapoor. Starring opposite Genelia, in the role that was originally played by Siddharth Narayan, is Harman Baweja.

About the film Genelia told IANS, “The film’s Telugu version was a blockbuster down south. Aneez sir has done a terrific job with the film and I hope the Hindi version is as successful as the Telugu one.”

Seems the actress is all work and no play saying, “I’m pretty much like Aditi from Jaane Tu…. There’s no one in my life. I’m even shooting on Valentine’s Day.”

Besides It’s My Life, in 2009 also in the pipeline is David Dhawan’s Hook Ya Crook with John Abraham and Abbas Mustan’s Partner, which stars Govinda, Akshaye Khanna Fardeen Khan, Tusshar Kapoor, and Prachi Desai.

About the rumors that she and Jaane Tu co-star Imran Khan do no get along she denied that saying, “Imran is a dear friend, there is no misunderstanding between us and we are very good friends. Everything is absolutely fine these are just rumours.”

So how is working in Bollywood? “Like a normal middle class girl, I initially believed that it’s (Bollywood) a big bad industry, but now I’ve realised that it treats you how you want it to treat you. I look at it now as a career opportunity than anything else.”

We wish this young star the best of luck for all her upcoming projects and will keep you updated on all the Genelia news!
