Akshay Kumar’s Special Chabbis is very guarded and has been kept completely under wraps. Entire team has taken a lot of effort in keeping the news underground on what the film is about.

Officially, Special Chabbis is an edgy gritty heist drama and the makers are highlighting that the film is based on the real-life daring heist dated 19-Mar-1987 where an unknown man posing as CBI officer Mon Singh recruited 26 men and executed a daylight raid on the Opera House branch of Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri in Mumbai, and disappeared with jewellery worth lakhs.

However sources close to the unit a fact that everyone is trying to underplay is the role of Akshay Kumar is based on Mithilesh Kumar Srivastava, better known as Natwarlal.

Natwarlal was once before an inspiration for the character of Amitabh Bachchan’s film. Mr Natwarlal in 1979 was an action comedy that drew inspiration from the famous heartland hero.

As the folk lore goes, Natwarlal was a famous Indian con man known for repeatedly selling the Taj Mahal, the Red Fort along with Rashtrapati Bhavan. Till the very end no one was able to catch him, even if caught he would escape and he remains a mystery even in his death.

Akshay Kumar like Natwarlal uses a lot of aliases was a master of disguises and used novel ideas to dupe people. He is also said to have cheated number of industrialists taking from them huge money in cash.

Directed by Neeraj Pandey of A Wednesday fame it has Akshay Kumar, Manoj Bajpai, Jimmy Shergill, and Anupam Kher in pivotal roles.
