According to the Regional President of the Congress Party, Kripa Shankar Singh, Shahrukh Khan could well replace Govinda as the Congress candidate for the Mumbai North constituency in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. ”I had invited Shah Rukh to a party function, after which he came closer to the party and if he agrees to contest the elections, we will welcome him,” says Kripa.

SRK is currently in LA to film for Karan Johar’s My Name is Khan, recreating his old jodi with Kajol. The production unit ran into some difficulties when Muslim members of the group, including A Wednesday actor Aamir Bashir, were denied visas. They have since reapplied.

His movie Billu Barber is due for release early in the new year and stars Irrfan Khan and Lara Dutta. The film is produced by SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment and features guest appearances from Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif, making it a star-packed extravaganza.

In a poll conducted by Samay News Channel, SRK was voted the King of Bollywood with Katrina Kaif the Queen.
