As you probably know Sajid Khan’s Himmatwala is a tribute to the 80s version that starred Jeetendra and Sri Devi. This incarnation stars the great Ajay Devgn and Tamannaah and from what we have seen so far it looks to be fabulous. The director is really making sure to pay tribute to the original while bringing in a new flavor and story to the classic film.
Here is something really interesting, one of the songs he has retained is ‘Naino Mein Sapna’ and what is so incredible, besides the visuals, is who is singing it. Kishore Kumar sung the original and now his son Amit Kumar has rendered the new version.
Sajid Khan said, “Re-recording ‘Naino Mein Sapna’ for me was like being a part of history. Never before has a song been sung in the same style rendered by his father 30 years ago. When Amit started singing it was almost like Kishoreda had come alive to sing the song for us.”
