The sequel to the 2008 hit Dostana is finally getting ready and will go on floor this year. Reportedly, some final detailing on the script is being done right now, but otherwise all is set for a late year start. John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan have been asked to work their dates out post September.
Even though both the director and producer i-e Karan Johar and Tarun Mansukhani are not revealing any details, Abhishek Bachchan went on to talk about the film and confirmed that the film is going on floors this year. “Tarun, Karan, John and I had decided last year that this is the script we want to go ahead with.”
The script reportedly went through a lot of detailing and working before being finalised. “This is not about who is happy or unhappy with the script. Dostana was a big hit, and so it is obvious that the filmmakers want to be sure about every detail of its sequel. The expectations from Dostana 2 are sky high, and nobody wants to take a chance with it. We want it to be better than Dostana,” a source stated.
There have been reports about Katrina Kaif as the female lead of the film, but that is apparently not true and the filmmakers are still looking out for their lead. “It is too soon for us to talk about the female lead as we are still searching for one and all options are being explored. So within a month or two, we should have our female lead. Karan will decide once he is done with Bombay Talkies,” said the source.
KJo, however, remained unavailable for comment. So to know when this sequel is coming to you, watch this space for the updates!
