13apr_Jacqueline-LondonActor-Director Prabhudeva has landed himself in trouble by casting Jacqueline Fernandez in an item song in his next directorial, Ramaya Vastavaiya.

According to TOI, Political party Hindu Makkal Katchi are reportedly angry with the director for including a Sri Lankan actress in the film, produced by Tips Films. Many political groups have been insisting on a trade ban between Sri Lanka and India. Jacqueline however, has been working in Bollywood since 2009.

The sultry actress is currently in London to attend a fundraiser by Pratham, a charity that provides education to illiterate children in India.

When asked to comment on the issue by Bollywood Reporter Sunny Malik, the 27-year-old said, “I don’t really like to get involved in these issues. But it is very sad to me because I work in India and I’m a Sri Lankan. I just wish that we could put all this behind us because it puts us back by so many years.”

“Right now, we are in 2013 and we need to move ahead and stop these prejudices. We need to stop thinking about the past as that will only harm our future. I hope and pray to God that we come to peace,” added Jacqueline.
