Along with Deepika Padukone and Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra has been approached to do an item number in Priyadarshan’s Billoo Barber. The film stars SRK, of course, and also Irrfan Khan and Lara Dutta.
Lara recently had a near miss during the shooting of the film when a posionous snake entered her living quarters. Luckily, she was able to deal with the threat efficiently. The production has also been hampered recently by heavy rain and its release date has now been put back to February 2009. A spokesman for Red Chillies entertainment said, “The film is not complete yet. There are two more songs yet to be picturised and a big marketing drive is being planned. We are looking forward now to an early 2009 release.”
“The film is a sweet story of friendship…quite similar to the bond shared between Khrishna and Sudama.” says SRK. It’s a remake of the Malayalam movie Kadha Parayumbol, which was itself remade as the disappointing Telugu movie Kuselan. The film appears to be a typical Bollywood tearjerker. Irrfan Khan plays a poor barber whose childhood friend (SRK) is now a superstar. Billo’s business starts to pick up when people learn of his connection to the superstar because everyone wants to meet him. They egg him on to arrange a meeting but Billo fails to make contact despite several efforts. Billo’s reputation then begins to plunge as no one believes him anymore. To find out what happens next, you’ll have to watch the movie.
