It’s been a slow start for Ranvir Shorey in Bollywood. He made a noticeable appearance in Jism but it wasn’t until recently with brilliant performances in films like Traffic Signal, Khosla Ka Ghosla, Mithya and Pyaar Ke Side Effects that he finally began to claim his fair amount of attention. This week should see him catapulted to the front line opposite the astonishing Mallika Sherawat in Ugly Aur Pagli – and he can also be seen on screen in Singh is Kinng!
Ranvir’s love life has also been flying high recently and it’s rumoured that he will soon announce his official engagement to Konkona Sen Sharma. Her mother, acclaimed director Aparna Sen seems happy with that. “I am happy if Konkona is happy with Ranvir. It’s their life and their decision after all,” she said.
Is Mallika pagli in real life? “Not at all man!” says Ranvir, “She is far away from being even the ‘P’ of ‘Pagli’. Mallika is a very intelligent girl who is very, very focused and has great instincts. Overall, she is a DIVA!”
Mallika also seems to have had a soft spot for Ranvir. “Once while Mallika was shooting for Ugly Aur Pagli, she came to know that Ranvir Shorey was not keeping well and was suffering from a bout of influenza,” said a source from the set, “Being the Good Samaritan that she is, Mallika immediately called her place and ordered some home cooked food for Ranvir. Ranvir on seeing her gesture was truly amazed and kept thanking her till the schedule was complete.”
Ranvir will also soon be seen in Chandni Chowk to China and A Rectangular Love Story amongst others.
