Directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and produced by the ace team of Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment, the comedy Fukrey was a film that from the first look and first song many a fan wanted to see more. The film tells the crazy story of 4 Fukra’s aka directionless slackers running after their individual desires, brought together by one dream, which turns their not so simple life upside down. What happens next and does it end well for our four heroes? Well fans found out on June 14th. The 4 fukras were relative newcomers to the big screen Pulkit Samrat, Manjot Singh, Ali Fazal, Varun Sharma, who were joined by Priya Anand, Vishakha Singh, Pankaj Tripathi, and Richa Chadda in the mad film. As Richa Chaddha described it, “Fukrey is a comedy with a great heart!” and it seems audiences and critics certainly agreed. Fukrey has performed extremely well at the box office and has done a business of roughly 35crore, which considering the film is with all newcomers is very impressive.
To celebrate the success and the praise the film has gotten, the Excel team had a party for the Fukrey team and of course there was a cool cake! The Fukrey cast and crew and even their family members came together on July 2nd to celebrate the success of their movie which continues to gain moolah at the box office, great reviews and positive word of mouth!
Star Ali Fazal said, “The biggest compliment that we all got was from Shah Rukh Khan. He appreciated our acting and he himself told us how it took him back to his younger days.”
Adding, “This is a motivating push for youngsters like us and I feel great. This doesn’t happen daily. I was just telling someone, ‘My film Fukrey is a hit’. Such small laughs and smiles make our day. The audience has accepted the film and I think that is the most important thing for me.”
Pulkit said, “All of us in the team are happy about the fact (the success) and realise the responsibility that comes with it. We just promise to be honest and work forward with the same honesty and fun.”
