Versatile actor Bhoomika Chawla’s career is booming. The New Delhi girl who starred opposite Salman Khan in Tere Naam, for which she won the Best Debut Award at the Zee Cine Awards, is currently in Kollywood (the Tamil film industry). She is filming for a role where she has to pretend to be a man – extra bonus money for the make-up staff for that one!

This is not her first time in Kollywood; she has previously starred in movies such as Badri, Rojakootam and Sillanu Oru Kadhal. Her first few movies, however, were in Tollywood (the Telegu film industry) with Khushi being her first big hit, opposite Pawan Kalyan.

Interestingly, Bhoomika has also appeared in this year’s Punjabi film, Yaariyan. And of course, she played the part of Gulab Ghandhi in last year’s Ghandi, My Father.

Bhoomika, who recently married her yoga teacher Bharat Thakur, is also a budding poet and has written over a hundred poems in English, which she hopes to get published soon.
