11. Saturday May 10th, 2008 (Delhi) — The prestigious Padma Shri Award Ceremony took places over the weekend in Delhi. The award is bestowed by the Indian government to those who have contributed and had a significant impact in the fields of Arts, Education, Journalism, Sports, Social Service, Science, Industry, Literature and Public Life. The award ranks fourth in the hierarchy of civilian awards in India. This year Madhuri Dixit, M. Night Shymalan and Tom Alter were amongst the winners.
