Abhishek Bachchan will soon be heard along with Wyclef Jean, a famous American rapper, on the song ‘Hollywood Meets Bollywood’. The track appears on Wyclef Jean’s new album “Carnival Vol. II: Memoirs of an Immigrant”, which will release in May. The song is a tribute to Hindi films and Abhi will be heard singing lyrics that are in honor of his father Amitabh.

Wyclef Jean specifically asked for Abhishek to be on the track and the composer for the song Aadesh Shrivastava told IANS, “It was unbelievable. Jean and I were discussing a track where we needed hip hop rap in Hindi by an Indian star, when Jean suggested, ‘How about Abheee-shake?’ Naturally I jumped at the suggestion. I’ve recorded many songs with Amitji. And I’ve been waiting for the right opportunity to record with Abhishek, who I know has a terrific singing voice.”

The two were so keen on having him for the track that they flew to Miami to record the song. Abhishek is currently shooting there on location for the Karan Johar produced film Dostana.

Abheee-shake’s voice will be heard singing lyrics that are reminiscent of his father’s film Don: “Wyclef, Aadesh comeon rock this party shake shake. Main yahan ka desi don sang mere ga re. India hamari shaan. Khai ke banarsi paan sang mere tu ga re.”

About the collaboration, Shrivastava said, “They became musical soul mates within minutes. Since I was the one who knew both of them, I thought I’d have to play intermediary. There was instant chemistry between Jean and Abhishek.”

Adding, “Abhishek, Jean and I had a ball recording the song till 2.30 in the morning. And then would you believe it, Abhishek headed straight for the shooting of Dostana, which started at 4 a.m..”
