Who knew that out of all the celebrities in the industry, a little boy would be the one to stand up to award shows? Taking after his director Aamir Khan, Darsheel Safary has challenged the Star Screen Awards by turning down his Best Child Actor trophy.

After stealing so many hearts with an awe-inspiring performance in Taare Zameen Par, he believes he deserves to be recognized in the Best Actor category, especially considering the fact that Aamir Khan was nominated (and won) as ‘Best Supporting Actor’. In a simple statement he says, “I am playing the lead role in the film, so I should get the Best Actor Award.” At the recent award function, it was Shahrukh Khan who took home the award for Chak De! India.

Kudos to Darsheel for standing up so courageously. One hopes he bags the award he so rightly deserves.
