6. Amitabh Bachchan
The year was a roller coaster ride like no other for the Godfather. Although he was in the news for all the wrong reasons, his work was as good as ever. He started the year off with Eklavya, which was considered to be one of the greatest performances of his career. Then he starred in the film Nishabd, which because of its bold theme failed, but his work was thought to be wonderful. Then he starred in Shootout at Lokhandwala and Cheeni Kum, which both turned out to be hits. He had a small role in SOAL, but in Cheeni Kum it was his show as he gave a great and understated performance. Then he starred in the all time debacle RGV Ki Aag, in which he was the lone bright spot. Most of his films did not work, but his work was appreciated in all of them. For 2008, he has coming up, The Last Lear, already garnering him superb reviews from festivals, Bhootnath, Aladdin, God Tussi Great Ho, and Sarkar Raj.
