5. Abhishek Bachchan
The first half of the year clearly belonged to him on screen, as well as, off screen. He gave what was perhaps the performance of the year in Guru. Then, he followed that up by announcing his engagement to Aishwarya Rai. After that, the only news you would hear from Bollywood was of the golden couple and their marriage announcements. When the marriage day finally came, they were the only news in the industry, and Abhishek was in top of the world personally and professionally. His wedding caused much controversy and that brought on a bit of a dip for his year. Next he starred in Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, which was a total failure, even though he was thought of being solid in the film. After that, he had a small cameo in Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, which also failed at the box office. A year that started off as a bang, but ended with a whimper caused him to fall on our list, but a fantastic performance along with the biggest story of the year cannot be ignored. 2008 has him starring in Sarkar Raj, Drona, Delhi 6, and the next for Dharma Productions.
