Like father like son. Salim Khan was one of the most famous writers of the ’70s who wrote some outstanding scripts including classics like Sholay and Don. Now, its Salman’s turn to step into his father’s shoes.

Salman Khan has been in front of the camera for years, and many of us have grown up watching him on our screens. However, now the actor has decided to change gears and will go one step further with his filmi knowledge.

He will be listed in the credits of Anil Sharma’s upcoming Veer not just as an actor, but also as the script writer. Anil Sharma (of Apne fame) has been working with the “controversial Khan” for the last three months. Three months ago, Salman finally revealed the idea of Veer to Anil Sharma and they both began to develop the script further. According to Anil Sharma, the movie will have a period epic feel that is set in the 1880s.

Veer will hit the screens on a much later notice since Salman still has God Tussi Great Ho to release and Anil Sharma has Master (starring the three Deols). The news of Salman turning script writer, however, has already created hype around this project.

2008 may well be the year when Khan gets his due respect. Kicking off with the prestigious unveiling of the wax statue followed by some of the most anticipated releases including Prabhu Deva’s Wanted: Dead or Alive (remake of Telugu blockbuster Pokiri). Way to go Sallu!
