srihari_actorPopular Tollywood actor Raghumudri Sri Hari, better known as Srihari passed away in Mumbai on Wednesday evening. Srihari who was at the time shooting in the city for Prabhu Deva directed ‘R…. Rajkumar’ was reported to have been suffering from liver ailment.

In a career spanning two decades, he starred in over 100 films; few of them as lead actor but it was his character roles that got him acclaim. Telugu romantic-drama ‘Nuvvostanante Nenodantana’ saw him in one of the finest performance by an actor and earned him the Nandi as well as Filmfare awards. As Sher Khan in 2009s blockbuster ‘Magadheera’, his earnest portrayal of a foe-turned-friend garnered audiences’ appreciation and love.

I had never met or interacted with the actor, but the second the news of his death broke out, a feeling of emptiness crept, one that was resolute to leave an irreplaceable void on celluloid. He stood tall as a supporting character actor to Tollywood’s leading superstars, because such strong was his connect, so real was his screen presence, that the audiences were drawn to him instead, every character he portrayed enshrined in memory.

Srihari is survived by wife Disco Shanthi, an ex-actress, and two sons.

Bollyspice offers our deepest condolences and strength to the family.
