13sep_akshayboss-02Krian Media Ltd today announced that it would also be releasing the Viacom 18 Motion Pictures Akshay Kumar starrer BOSS, for which it had recently acquired International Distribution rights, in Panama, Peru and France in addition to the 400 screens already announced across Europe, North America, South East Asia and Australia, amongst others. The movie would have a Day and Date release in most International markets on 16 October 2013. The announcement gains significance as it not just marks the opening up of a new non-traditional territory ‘Panama’ for Indian cinema.

Commenting on the development, Raj Malik, Vice President, Film Acquisition & Distribution, Krian Media, stated: “One of the key challenges and pre-requisites of good distribution in the international markets is the ability of the distributor to open up new markets as it just helps ensure reaching out to a wider audience base but also helps broaden the revenue pie. It thus is a matter of immense pride for us that not only have we been able to ensure a pretty wide 400 screen international release for BOSS across Europe, North America, South East Asia and Australia, amongst other markets but have also opened up the non-traditional Latin American market of Panama to Indian cinema.

BOSS is Krian Media Ltd.’s second association with Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, the first being G.I. Joe which released in India on 27th March 2013.

Produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, Cape Of Good Films and Ashwin Varde Productions and directed by Anthony D’Souza, Boss is an action comedy starring Akshay Kumar and Aditi Rao Hydari and is slated for a 16 October, 2013 release.

In addition to Boss and in a short span since its inception Krian Media Ltd., in addition to having acquired and released G.I. Joe and Raja Rani, has also acquired two Tollywood and two Mollywood films for USA distribution of which it has already released one Malyalam film.
