Your Guide To Bollywood This Winter!

Some may say that 2007 has been a quiet year, however, it is only because the industry plans to end with a bang! We now bring you a Bollywood guide for this winter!

October

The month has just begun however cinegoers can already look forward to some very interesting releases.

Yash Raj Films and Priyadarshan go head on, on October the 12th as cinemas world wide begin the screening of Laaga Chunari Mein Daag and Bhool Bhulaiya. Both movies are on their peek of promotion currently and audiences are waiting in anticipation.

Laaga Chunari Mein Daaggives the vibe of a drama movie with family themes. Pradeep Sarkar, director of blockbuster Parineeta, has joined hands with YRF for the very first time and audiences are eager to see what this combination produces. The movie is pact with stars who have high expectations bestowed upon them. Rani Mukerji, Konkona Sen Sharma, Kunal Kapoor, Jaya Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan in a special appereance.

From drama we go to comedy and thriller in the same Friday. Priyadarshan brings the remake of the South hit Chandramukhi into Hindi cinema along with his trusted Akshay Kumar, Shiney Ahuja, Paresh Rawal, Vidya Balan and Amisha Patel. Bhool Bhulaiya is certainly one of the intriguing releases this winter with its combined genres of comedy and thriller.

Later on in the month some smaller releases follow such as Imtiaz Ali’s (director of Socha Na Tha) Jab We Met starring the youthful duo of Shahid and Kareena. Also the hot and happening John and Bipasha once again combine their star power to set the screen on fire with No Smoking.

November

This month every year is the busiest and that is because the Hindu festival of Diwali is celebrated in November. November 10th is the big date for Bollywood this year.

Saawariya and Om Shanti Om are the battling releases on the auspicious day of Diwali. Both movies’ promotional campaign is working the hardest possible however with the reputation both SLB and Farah have amongst movie lovers, there is definite audience out there without any promotion!

Star kids Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor receive a dream debut with the cinematic magician, Sanjay Leela Bansali. After the thought provoking Black the director decides to change gears with a youthful lovestory. Audiences could not be more excited about this release. The music is hitting charts high and the fan list of both newcomers are growing by the second. No more can be said about this must see this winter.

However, wait there is much more this Diwali. If two newcomers are causing raves amongst movie lovers than why should our King Khan be much behind? Shahrukh Khan comes in an absolutely new avatar to rock the screens world wide with Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om. Deepika Padukone battles the debut of Ranbir and Sonam to make her own presnese felt this Diwali. Om Shanti Om promises to be a movie about two different time sets.

Thankfully the November releases do not end just there! Later on in the month the ever-green Madhuri Dixit Nene makes her comeback with YRF’s Aaja Nachle. Fans of this diva will fled to cinemas across the globe on November 30th as the magic of Madhuri once again captivates the audiences.

December

Also pending releases for December are Khoya Khoya Chand starring Soha Ali Khan and Shiney Ahuja, South blockbuster Ghajini remake starring Aamir Khan and regional actress Asin and Sarkar sequel titled Sarkar Raj with Big B, Ash and Abhi.

January

The quiet December was only a resting time for cinegoers as January of ’08 promises to be an exciting month with biggies like Ashotosh Gowrikar’s Jodha Akbar starring Hrithik and Ash. Later on in the month Shahrukh, Big B and Juhi starrer Bhootnath is expected to hit screens worldwide.

So that was guide you’ll all need to keep handy this winter. The industry promises to end the year with a bang with countless biggies hitting screens worldwide. We’ll have comedies, thrillers, romance, period drama and even comebacks to celebrate this winter. So fans gear up for a busy end of the year as you’ll be running to the cinemas every second week if not every week!
